Myanmar-Japan Workshop
|
|
Disaster Management Collaboration Dialogue Workshop between Myanmar and Japan was held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar on 23 and 24 January, 2018.
The workshop was based on the MOC (Memorandum of Cooperation) in the fields of Water Resource Management, Water-related Disaster Management, and Climate Change Adaptation between Myanmar (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Ministry of Transport and Communications, and Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement) and Japan (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)).
More than 100 people from the two governments, private companies, and the related agencies attended. The themes of the workshop were; sediment control of dam reservoir contributing to operation and maintenance, flood forecasting and warning, maintenance of river navigation by sediment management, and priority of actions for collaboration in disaster management.
