Global Flood Alert System (GFAS) runs on a trial basis! |
|
A trial version of the Global Flood Alert System (GFAS) is running on the
IFNet website! GFAS converts the satellite precipitation estimates which
the NASA makes public on its website into useful information for flood
forecasting and warning, such as global/regional rainfall maps, text data,
and provides heavy rain information by precipitation probability estimates.
GFAS can also send heavy rain information via email to the registered addresses
beforehand. For inquiries or requesting to receive heavy rain notice emails
from the GFAS, contact the IFNet secretariat. Your valuable feedback to
the system is also highly appreciated.
