1.	"WORST FLOODS": Newly released on IFNet website
	A new content, 'WORST FLOODS', has been released on IFNet Website. This provides information about world flood disasters which claimed more than 50 lives, including the havoc caused by the Hurricane Katrina. We will update the information sequentially. IFNet presented its activities and introduced the GFAS at the 4th Mekong Flood Forum

IFNet will set up a new web page early 2006, on which daily global rainfall with the indication heavy rainfall areas will be automatically uploaded. The information is processed through utilizing the data observed by global observation satellites, provided by the NASA. The concrete contents are:

- Daily precipitation map (0.25x0.25 degree grid in the band of 60 deg. N-S)
- Daily precipitation data of 1440x480 grid boxes in text format (60 deg. N-S)
- Map showing 1/5 and 1/10 return period precipitation
- Map showing areas exceeding 1/5 and 1/10 return period precipitation

We will inform you about the status of GFAS project in the near term, the info can be found also at the 4th World Water Forum in Mexico.
