IFNet Preparatory Unit Established |
|
IFNet Preparatory Unit was set up in gWater in Riversh Secretariat toward establishment of
IFNet on March 2003. The Unit will promote the activities of introduction to IFNet in
meetings and events related flood.

Presentation on Swedenfs World Water Week
|
|
During Swedenfs World Water Week, the 12th Stockholm World Water Symposium was held
in Stockholm from 11 to 17 August. Main theme of the 2002 Symposium is to balance
competing water uses, as well as addressing such issues as water
resources management, poverty alleviation, and environment and
development. Many aspects of issues related water including
flood are discussed in the Symposium.
The contents of IFNet, background, objectives, activities,
participation in the Network were explained to the participants by
appealing poster display and distributing brochures, CDs and so
on. In this Symposium, IFNet was paid considerable attention to
by many participants because Europe and Asia were suffered
from floods during the Week.

Introduction to IFNet at Pre-Forum in Toyama, Japan |
|
In 19 and 20 of August, a Forum regarding Groundwater was held as Pre World
Water Forum, in Toyama where large scale of groundwater is used. It was
good opportunity to spread IFNet activities to wide range of people such
as the scalars, university students, and citizensf organizations through
distributing brochures, posters, CDs and so on. Especially, after a presentation
about flood, there were many participants who were interested in IFNet,
which focus on the floods, and read the brochures carefully.
" Please give us your information regarding floods in Europe and Asia. "
